Urologist in Medellín
Private consultations with board-certified urologists, no referral needed, for men and women
A urologist treats diseases of the kidneys, bladder and urinary tract in men and women, as well as conditions of the prostate, the testicles and male sexual health. Within urology there are subspecialists in the prostate, stones, andrology, functional urology and urologic oncology. MDE Care is not a clinic: we help you identify which specialist fits your case, arrange the appointment and tests, and stay with you through your follow-up.

What a urologist treats
Beyond the prostate, vasectomy and erectile dysfunction, we arrange care for stones, urinary incontinence, male sexual and reproductive health, varicocele and hydrocele, and prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancer.
Erectile dysfunction

When is it time to see a urologist?
These signs justify a consultation with a urologist. Some should not wait for an appointment.
Request a consultation if you have
- A weak urine stream, a feeling of incomplete emptying or the need to get up several times at night to urinate.
- Blood in the urine, even if it happened only once and without pain.
- An elevated PSA in a checkup or a family history of prostate cancer.
- Recurrent urinary tract infections or urine leakage.
- A lump or a feeling of heaviness in a testicle.
- Difficulty getting or keeping an erection.
- A kidney mass or a stone found on an ultrasound.
Go to the emergency room if you have
- Inability to urinate with a full bladder.
- Severe flank pain with fever, chills or vomiting.
- Sudden, severe pain in a testicle, which may be a torsion and requires immediate care.
- Heavy blood in the urine with clots or difficulty urinating.
After emergency care, we arrange the follow-up consultation with the urologist.
Tests the urologist may order
The urologist decides during the consultation which ones you need. If you have recent test results, bring them: they may avoid repeating tests.
Urinary tract ultrasound
Evaluates the kidneys, bladder and prostate without radiation.
COP 90,000 to COP 180,000
Testicular Doppler ultrasound
Examines masses, pain and varicocele in the scrotum.
COP 100,000 to COP 190,000
PSA and urinalysis
Prostate-specific antigen in the blood, a urine test and creatinine for kidney function.
Uroflowmetry and urodynamic testing
They measure the strength of the stream and how the bladder works. They guide the treatment of the prostate and of incontinence.
Cystoscopy
Allows the urethra and bladder to be seen from the inside. It is indicated, for example, to investigate blood in the urine.
See cystoscopy
Prostate MRI
When prostate cancer is suspected, it is recommended before the biopsy to guide it to the suspicious area.
CT scan
Locates and measures stones and evaluates kidney masses.
Semen analysis
Analyzes the semen in the study of male infertility and in the follow-up after a vasectomy.
