What is a recovery house and how is it different from a hotel?+
It is a hotel specialized in post-operative care. Unlike a regular hotel, it has licensed health services on site: nursing around the clock, a medical office, a procedure room, medication administration and meals adapted to your recovery, plus continuous follow-up of your surgeon's instructions.
How much does a recovery house in Medellín cost?+
Opening rates per night are US$270 for the standard Queen room, US$305 for the Junior Suite with kitchen, US$348 for the Premium Suite with jacuzzi and US$355 for the Family Deluxe. Every plan includes 24/7 nursing, meals and medical follow-up.
How many nights do I need to stay?+
It depends on the procedure. Most cosmetic surgery patients stay between 7 and 10 nights, and orthopedic or cardiovascular surgeries usually need 10 to 14. Your surgeon makes the final call.
Can I bring a companion?+
Yes. The suites have room for someone to stay with you, and the Family Deluxe sleeps the patient plus up to 4 companions. Ask us about companion services when you book.
Do you take patients from any surgeon or clinic?+
Yes. You do not need to have been operated on by a particular surgeon. What we do is follow the medical protocol you were given and stay in contact with your care team throughout the stay.
What happens if something goes wrong in the middle of the night?+
There is nursing staff on site 24 hours a day, every day. At any warning sign the protocol kicks in: immediate assessment, a call to your surgeon and transfer to the clinic if needed. That is exactly why a licensed recovery house exists.
Is the house licensed by a health authority?+
Yes. The location holds two licensed services from the Antioquia Health Department: general medicine, certificate DHSS0750513, and nursing, certificate DHSS0750512. Both are shown on this page and can be verified on Colombia's Ministry of Health portal.
Does the staff speak English?+
